Sonia Friedman Productions and Fox Stage Productions have announced the final casting for the much-anticipated West End production of the 1950 Twentieth Century Fox film All About Eve as rehearsals get underway.
Directed by Ivo van Hove, the new adaptation of All About Eve, which opens at the Noël Coward Theatre next month for a strictly limited run, is a razor-sharp, unsettling exposé of the eternal obsession at the heart of show-business. Jessie Mei Li will be making her professional stage debut as Claudia Casswell, while Merric Boyd, Fejiro Emasiobi, Chanelle Modi, Stuart Nunn, Phillipa Peak and Michael Warburton all join the ensemble. They join the previously announced Emmy Award-winning Gillian Anderson, who will return to the stage alongside Lily James to lead the cast comprising Monica Dolan, Ian Drysdale, Tsion Habte, Julian Ovenden , Sheila Reid, Rhashan Stone, Stanley Townsend, Charles Hagerty, Grace Stone and Philip Voyzey.
Van Hove’s direction will be accompanied by set and lighting design from Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys and music from double Mercury Prize-winner PJ Harvey, alongside Tom Gibbons’ sound design.
“Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy night.”
All About Eve will run for 14 weeks, beginning on 2nd February.
